In the winter when the temperature is near freezing, these cats will chill by walking around in their snow coats and in such cases they are also known as desert cats. It has an astonishingly keen sense of smell and its hearing is superior to that of any other cat in the world and it is capable of hearing prey scent at a distance of over two miles.

Information On Records The leopard speed is said to be the oldest known predator on record and it is estimated that it has been around since the dinosaurs roamed the earth. It has been recorded in the past as having killed men in its path and it is even believed to kill lions, which is almost impossible considering that only solitary felines live in the wild. It has also been implicated in killing elephants and hippos and in fact, accounts were collected from thirty years ago in which seven men were killed by it. However, these incidents are very few and far between, so much so that the possibility of a leopard killing a person in any way is next to zero. However, the probability of a tiger attacking a person is a definite possibility and this has led to many people concluding that the leopard speed in fact preys upon humans and not wild animals.
